Main job purpose: Senior Analyst is responsible for researching, analyzing and making recommendations of the stocks to be included in the firm’s portfolios. Additional duties include conducting ongoing due diligence on existing and potential companies. This role will be an important member of the Investment team originating, evaluating and recommending investment ideas for the portfolio. The successful candidate will be able to provide a differentiated view, identify change in covered companies and sub-sectors and reach fact-based conclusions within a risk/reward framework. In addition, the candidate has to maintain flexibility to learn new techniques and work in tight timelines.

Job Description:

  • Generate strong, insightful investment ideas based on independent research.
  • Utilize fundamental and/or technical research to arrive at sound and timely investment decisions.
  • Conduct face-to-face interviews with executive management teams, suppliers, and customers and conduct industry and competitive due diligence.
  • Collect and synthesize investment data on a macro and micro level while developing appropriate analytical processes to track and record changes to team.
  • Conduct detailed quantitative analyses on performance and fund-level characteristics of existing holdings along with potential new targets, maintaining a list of potential replacements.
  • Support the portfolio manager in continuously monitoring, managing, and optimizing the investment performance within the established investment management strategy, and help ensure portfolios remain aligned with strategic and tactical allocation targets to maximize the long-term risk adjusted returns of the portfolios.
  • Support the research, production, and presentation of all necessary materials related to the portfolios.
  • Support sales and marketing departments with channel management.
  • Assist in developing and presenting marketing materials to internal and external clients.
  • Demonstrate honesty, responsibility, integrity, and fulfillment of commitments.
  • Candidate may also be given other responsibilities on an as-need basis in line with the growth of the organization.
  • Other tasks are assigned by line manager.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in stock investment research
  • Must understand various sectors and be flexible to cover new sectors
  • Excellent analytical skills including financial modeling and independent research
  • Knowledge and understanding of investment valuation methodologies
  • Buy-side investment research experience is preferred, but not a must
  • Practical and capable of simplifying and summarizing complex information
  • Strong academic credentials, including a bachelor’s degree. Advanced degree(s) or CFA charter holders will be a plus
  • Strong communication skills (writing, verbal, and presentations)
  • Licensed in Vietnam
  • Good command of English
